Here it is race fans! The biggest racing event that you'll be part of is back at the mighty Tri-State Speedway! The 40th Annual Spooker Honoring Cecil Harlan will be held this coming October 9th-12th, 2019 on the famous high banks in Pocola, Oklahoma. The track is located 1.5 miles west of Fort Smith on I-540.
This year's event will be honoring the late Cecil Harlan who was the former promoter and owner of Tri-State Speedway for many years. Normally, our opening event of the season, The Kegger, honors Cecil, but Mother Nature had other plans this past spring and prevented us from running that event. Cecil not only originated the large season-opening event, but he also originated the normal season-ending event known as The Spooker. With us not being able to hold The Kegger, and with the need to honor Cecil, we'll do that at The Spooker this season.
This year's event will once again feature over $65,000 in prize money up for grabs in ten different classes of cars including the Front Wheel Drives, Mini-Stocks, Pure Stocks, Economy/360/Sport Mods, Factory Stocks, Grand National/Super Stocks, USRA B-Mods, USRA Modifieds, Ca$h Money SDS Late Models and the big, ultra-fast Spooker Late Models. The Spooker Late Models will be competing for a $2,000 to win paycheck. The USRA Modifieds, USRA B-Mods and the Grand National/Super Stocks will be trying to grab the $1,500 to win in each class, while the Factory Stocks will be running for $800 to win. The Ca$h Money SDS Late Models will be chasing a $1,000 payout to the winner. The full class payouts for everyone is listed below.
Everyone at the mighty Tri-State Speedway would like to thank JRT Trucking (JR Owen) and SDI (Sonny Davis) for their generous contributions throughout the 2019 racing season. We would also like to thank American Towing and SG Performance Carburetors for their added money that will be given away to certain finishers in the Factory Stock and Grand National/Super Stock classes.
For those coming from out of town, there is camping allowed at the track, although there are no hook ups. For those who'd prefer to stay in a hotel room, there is Candlewood Suites, located at 7501 Madison Ave. in Fort Smith. They are located 9.1 miles from the track via I-540 and AR 22 (Rogers Avenue) Their location is extremely close to many popular national food establishments and other shopping amenities. You can contact them at (479) 424-3800 and mention Tri-State Speedway and receive your room for only $79. Give them a call and book your room now. All drivers may pre-register and pay your entry fee, if any, online via PayPal or any debit/credit card. This will save you time at the driver window if you haven't raced with us in 2019. This registration is through MyRacePass (MRP). If you already have a MRP driver profile, the pre-registration will be even quicker. You will need to register for the days you start racing. For instance, if you qualify on Thursday and run your features on Friday, you will need to register for your class that starts on Thursday. There are three different registration forms, so if you do not see your class listed, please check another day. You will have to register for each class you are racing, whether it has an entry fee or not. This is all optional and you can still register and pay at the track, but this will help speed up that process. Pre-registrations are open until 7:00 PM on the night that you start racing.
