48th Annual FIrecracker Spectacular Honoring Curtis Tennant
***JUST ANNOUNCED - Due to the heat, stands will open at 6 PM with hot laps at 7:30 PM ***
For the last several years, we have honored our fallen racer and friend, Curtis Tennant, and we will continue to do so. We want to ask all of our racing family and fans to wear either orange or green clothing to honor Curtis during this event.
Curtis loved every aspect of dirt track racing. The Tennant family was always at the race track. Curtis started driving in 1992, but helped on several cars long before that. Curtis started turning wrenches on his dad's (Elvin Tennant's) cars when he was young, so young that most kids at that age most likely didn't know what wrenches were. He raced at several different tracks over the years most weekends running Friday, Saturday and a lot of Sundays.
Even after he got sick, he was working here at Tri-State doing different jobs from track prep during the week to being tech man on Saturday night. You couldn't get any cheating past Curtis because he at some point had probably already tried that trick.
Curtis was known and loved by so many different people, racers and non-racers alike.
Make your plans now to come join us as we celebrate the birth of our nation and give thanks for the freedoms it provides us at the mighty Tri-State Speedway!
