Driver of the Week: Randy Moses, Sr.
Randy “Big Moe” Moses, Sr. is the seasoned racecar driver of the 75M super stock car proudly bearing the title of “Big Moe."
In 1977, Randy started his stock car career at Thunderbird Speedway in the street stock class. He had intended to only run one season, but that one season has stretched his love for racing into celebrating 40 years of driving this season.
He has raced in many classes over the years, which put him into races with some of the biggest and best in the area along the way. He drove several years at Crawford County in the 80s, and in 1990 he won the grand national point championship at Thunderbird Speedway. He especially enjoys racing with his son, Randy, II, who got into the sport at the age of 14. They have raced door to door many times since "Lil Moe" started racing. And Big Moe makes him earn every inch of dirt when he gets to boast over Dad.
His dream before he retires from racing is to win a feature race at Tri-State Speedway or a point championship. And he plans to continue racing as long as he can still get into the car. He is currently, leading in the point chase in the super stock class.
His sponsors for all these years are Bright Racing, Quality 1 Lube, Advantage Controls, BMS Engines, Brian’s Auto Repair, Five Star Recycling, Richey’s Muffler and Harrison Tire. In addition, Moe sends a special thanks to Roberts Racing Chassis and Crew Chief, Randy Moses, II.
He is married to Cheryl, who has been his greatest supporter. In addition to his son, Randy, II, he also has a daughter, Renee. Randy also has seven grandkids--Trevor, Brayden, Maegan, Rylin, Avery, Emersyn, and 2-year-old Mason. Mason tells his "Popsie" that the racecar is “my car" and even has his own Lil Bitty Moe car.
We thank" Big Moe" for his continued support of our track that he calls his home track and wish him the best while pursuing his dream.
