THIS SATURDAY NIGHT!!
The mighty Tri-State Speedway presents the 50th Annual Firecracker Spectacular honoring Curtis Tennant featuring USRA - United States Racing Association point racing in all four classes including $1,000 to win for Modifieds!
Pits open at 4 PM and stands open at 6:30 PM with hot laps at 7:30 PM. Stands are $12 for adults with kids 10 & under and all military, past or present with proof of service get in to the stands for free. Pit passes are $30 for adults and kids 6-12 are $15.
Curtis loved every aspect of dirt track racing. The Tennant family was always at the race track.
He started driving in 1992, but helped on several cars long before that. Curtis started turning wrenches on his dad's (Elvin Tennant's) cars when he was young, so young that most kids at that age most likely didn't know what wrenches were.
He raced at several different tracks over the years most weekends running Friday, Saturday and a lot of Sundays.
Even after he got sick, he was working here at Tri-State doing different jobs from track prep during the week to being tech man on Saturday night. You couldn't get any cheating past Curtis because he at some point had probably already tried that trick.
Curtis was known and loved by so many different people, racers and non-racers alike.
