36th Annual Spooker Results

POCOLA, OK (October 18TH, 2015) – The final event of the 2015 season was the 36TH Annual Spooker that was held on October 14TH, 15TH, 16TH and 17TH. Night one (Wednesday, October 14TH) was open practice for all classes with 70 cars signing in to get their first chance at chassis setup and engine tuning for the $58.000+ event.

NIGHT TWO (Thursday, October 15TH)

With temperatures in the mid 90's and more reminiscent of July, night two of the 36th Annual Spooker at Tri-State Speedway got underway at 7:45 PM after hot laps took a little longer than normal and some last minute track prep was undertaken to try and battle the second consecutive day of 90+ degree temps.

After the invocation and National Anthem, heat racing for the 151 cars on hand got underway. Night two was round one qualifying for all six classes, with the top eight in passing points from the Super Stocks, Sport Mods, IMCA Mods and TSS Mods and the top ten in passing points the Pure Stocks and IMCA Stocks locking into their respective A features.

In the Pure Stocks, the top ten were: Bobby Ward (33), Jessie Johnson (2), Wesley Bourne (5), Jesse Garner (2), Kyle McAllister (11K), Jack Kirby (7K), Dale Richardson 9Z28), Bobby Hunter (77B), Ethan Hunter (1/4) and Kendall Hasty (77H).

In the IMCA Stock Cars, the top ten were: Andrew Bohanan (33R), Dale Richardson (327), Mike Wiseman (DT1), Kyle Slader (18), Joshua Vaughn (77V), Kyle Stevens (25), Justin Johnson (55), Devon Johnson (2D), Cecil Hayes (11H) and Shannon Cox (75).

In the Sport Mods, the top eight were: Chris Hawkins (1XX), Steve Holzkamper (5), William Gould (60), Kayden Menasco (49), Kyle Slader (19), Cody Rongey (71), Logan Ellis (118) and Steve Muilenburg (33).

In the IMCA Modifieds, the top eight were: Dalton Clay (5*), Tate Cole (89), Van Gemmill (21), Johnny Bone, Jr. (12), Shannon Reheard (72), William Gould (60), Jake Davis (7) and Nick Lawrence (99).

In the Super Stocks, the top eight were: Cody Jones (92J), Brandon Henry (39), Heath Weston (64W), Tyler Chambers (XXX), Dylan Davlin (26D), Billy Wheeler (10-4), Jim Philpot (25) and Kyle Slader (19S).

In the TSS Modifieds, the top eight were: Chad Wheeler (89), Tyler Wolfe (4W), Andy Milliken (6M), Mitch Keeter (52), Brian Williams (26), Jeremy Vaughn (8V), Steve Muilenburg (33) and Kyle Ledford (75).

NIGHT THREE (October 16TH)

With temperatures were more like what they are supposed to be in mid-October, night three of the 36th Annual Spooker at Tri-State Speedway got underway at 7:30 PM after hot laps took a little longer than normal due to the amount of cars and the addition of the late models.

After the invocation and National Anthem, heat racing got underway. Night three was round two of qualifying for four classes, with the top eight in passing points from the Super Stocks, Sport Mods, IMCA Mods and TSS Mods locking into their respective A features on Saturday night behind the night two qualifiers. There were also B Qualifiers for the Pure Stocks and the IMCA Stock Cars to determine where they started behind the night two qualifiers. 21 late models also joined us on night three for a complete show.

In the Sport Mods, the top eight from round two qualifying were: Steve Little (97S), Aaron Scroggins (1/4), Dean Green (28), Neil Johnston (17J), Robert Southerland (26H), Ryan Williams (25), Charlie Brummett (B12) and Caden Ellis (84).

In the IMCA Modifieds, the top qualifiers in round two were: Jason Payton (6), Roy Schaberg (7S), Randi Goins (51), Aaron Scroggins (1/4) and Lonny Flanagan (7F).

In the Super Stocks, the top eight in round two were: Mark Williams (89), Robert Knowles (44K), Neil Johnston (17), Ty Evans (5E), Grant Davis (1), H. Palmer (X-15), Andy Morris (127) and Jeff Metcalf (17M).

In the TSS Modifieds, the top eight from round two were: Mike Cook (7C), Gene Nicholas (11N), Brandon Hunter (1/4), Brent Holman (17), Lonnie Robins (X), Randy Henson (10H), Faustin Wilhite (F5) and George Martin (15M).

A Feature Winners

The Pure Stock A Feature had Dale Richardson (Z28 - Muskogee, OK) picking up the win ahead of Wesley Bourn (5 - Cameron, OK) and Jack Kirby (7K). The 2015 Tri-State Speedway Pure Stock track champion, Chris Perkins (88 - Rudy, AR) finished fourth while Daniel Tarkington (69 - Checotah, OK) rounded out the top five.

The IMCA Stock Car A Feature saw Dale Richardson (326 - Muskogee, OK) take home his second Spooker trophy of the event. Andrew Bohanan (33R - Stigler, OK) and Kyle Slader (18) were second and third ahead of Shannon Cox (75 - Greenwood, AR) and Kyle Stevens (25) in fourth and fifth.

The Friday night late model A Feature was won by Jake Davis (7D - Hackett, AR) ahead of Justin Wells (98 - Aurora, MO) and Cole Wells (10 - Aurora, MO). Eddie Martin (91 - Tahlequah, OK) picked up fourth ahead of Shannon Scott (4 - Henryetta, OK).

Night Four (October 17TH)

With another cool round of normal temperatures, night four of the 36th Annual Spooker at Tri-State Speedway got underway at 6:15 PM after hot laps were completed.

After the invocation and National Anthem, B Feature and last chance qualifying got underway. The Super Stocks, Sport Mods, IMCA Mods and TSS Modifieds were in action to set the remaining cars for their A Features behind the 16 cars that were qualified in on night two and night three. 19 late models also joined us on night four for a complete show. After the full A Feature fields were set, the top ten cars in each feature redrew to determine their starting order.

A Feature Winners

The Sport Mod A Feature was won by Steve Muilenburg (39 - Sparta, MO) ahead of Aaron Scroggins (1/4 - Neosho, MO) and William Gould (60 - Calera, OK). Steve Holzkamper (5 - Gentry, AR) and Dean Green (29 - Siloam Springs, AR) rounded out the top five.

The Super Stock Car A Feature saw Cody Jones (92J - Fort Smith, AR) capture the trophy as Neil Johnston (17 - Fort Smith, AR) and Ty Evans (5E - Fort Smith, AR) followed. Tyler Chambers (XXX - Welling, OK) was fourth ahead of Mark Mullins (89) in fifth.

The next A Feature on the track was the TSS Modifieds where Tyler Wolfe (4W - Fayetteville, AR) took home the big money as Chad Wheeler (889 - Muskogee, OK) and Steve Muilenburg (33 - Sparta, MO) were second and third. Jeremy Vaughn (8V - Pocola, OK) was fourth and Mike Cooke (7C - Community, AR) was fifth.

In the IMCA Modified A Feature, Tate Cole (89 - Muskogee, OK) claimed the trophy while Shannon Reheard (72 - Muskogee, OK) and Johnny Bone, Jr. (12 -Pea Ridge, AR) finished second and third respectively. Finishing fourth was Nick Lawrence (99 - Plainview, AR) ahead Zane Hunter (1/2 - Alma, AR) in fifth.

The final A Feature of the night, the 36th Annual Spooker and the 2015 season was the late model A Feature that was won by Shannon Scott (4 - Henryetta, OK). Friday night's A Feature winner, Jake Davis (7D - Hackett, AR) finished in second ahead of Raymond Merrill (12M - Sallisaw, OK). Eddie Martin (91 - Tahlequah, OK) and Justin Wells (98 - Aurora, MO) rounded out the top five.

Overall, 184 different cars accepted the challenge of racing the high banks of the legendary Tri-State Speedway for the 36th Annual Spooker. Tri-State Speedway would like to say "THANK YOU" to all of the fans and drivers who came out to support us during the 36th Annual Spooker. Without you, there is no us. This annual event continues to grow. What was just a two day event, not too so long ago, is now a four day event and is definitely an event to experience in the future if you get the chance.

We have a strong feeling that next year will be one of the best ever for the legendary track as it celebrates 46 consecutive years of racing in 2016.
