Menasco and Vaughn Win Championships!
The 2015 point season wrapped up this last Saturday night at the legendary Tri-State Speedway. Not only was it a great night of racing on the famous high banks, but two track championships came down to the last points race of the season to determine the champions.
14 year old Kayden Menasco secured the 2015 IMCA Sport Mod Track Championship with his fourth place finish, The ninth grader had three A Feature wins, 16 Top 5's, 18 Top 10's and an average feature finish of fourth on his way to the championship. Menasco also picked up the Oklahoma State IMCA Northern Sport Mod Championship for 2015.
Pocola, Oklahoma's own Jeremy Vaughn had to fight hard for the 2015 TSS Modified Track Championship. Vaughn entered the last points race of the season three points out of first place and only five points ahead of third place. At the end of the race, Jeremy's eighth place finish was enough for him to win the championship by a very slim two points. Over the season's A Features, Vaughn had only one win, six Top 5's, nine Top 10's and an average feature finisah of seventh.
